Botany Department

The botanical division was established in 1982 when our department started education. Since its establishment, it has carried out many courses, laboratories and applications in the field of botany both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Our department is known for its scientific studies nationally and internationally with its staff. In the department, 44 master's and 15 doctoral thesis studies have been completed to date.

In our department, besides the basic Botanical courses, our students are constantly renewed with laboratories and practices in order to raise individuals with current and advanced knowledge, productive, creative, respectful to the society and the environment, sharing, entrepreneur, and team work as well as leadership. These laboratories, in which graduate students as well as graduate students have the opportunity to participate in the research, serve to train future scientists in this way. In addition, department staff can provide consultancy services that will come upon request.

Our department includes Botany, Herbarium, Plant Tissue Culture, Palynology, Ethnobotanical, Ecophysiology, Lichen and Moss Herbarium, etc. There are research laboratories.

Subject of Study Subjects; Seeded Plant Systematics, Cytotaxonomy, Plant Tissue Culture, Palinology, Plant Morphology and Anatomy, Vegetation Ecology, Mosses Systematics, Plant Physiology, Plant Stress Physiology, Ethnobotanical, Molecular Systematic, Ecogenetics.
